| Artlandish Sisters Laughter is the best medicine |
Deborah and Cheryl are sisters. They grew up in Connecticut until, in their
early twenties Deborah moved to Rhode Island and Cheryl to an Island off
the coast of Maine. As children, they were best friends, laughing, sharing
secrets and dreams. As adults, their busy lives allowed for occasional
updates on children, relationships, jobs and family matters.
In August of 2006, Cheryl was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her year
that followed was full of surgery, treatment and recovery. Numerous
visits from Deb rekindled a friendship that had been absent for many
years. It was soon apparent that laughter is the best medicine! With that,
"Boob Booty" was born.

In August of 2006, our younger sister Lisa called me with the news that Cheryl was going into
surgery for breast cancer. I went to Maine to help Cheryl through recovery. Quickly, we found
out that sutures and laughing don't mix. Somehow we came up with the idea of "Boob Booty"
and our days have been filled with them since! We do have a five hour driving gap between us
to contend with but we make it work via monthly visits, numerous phone calls and a lot of
email. We are certain our boobs will be enjoyed by everyone everywhere but the most
important thing they've done for me, is to bring Cheri and I together again.

When I found out I had breast cancer I was devastated but determined to beat it and get on with my life.
The love and support of family and friends gave me the courage to take on this battle. I also found that
laughter is a very powerful tool. It heals the body and distracts the mind. It certainly helped me. I hope that
"Boob Booty" can bring a chuckle to others going through the "journey" of breast cancer.
